Goals

The realm of geography and design has more adjuncts than any other. I feel that within this sphere a person can lead a rewarding career that directly affects people. Public policy, sustainability issues, urban planning, environmental sciences, or the hundreds of other related fields should not be seen as silos for technical expertise but inter-related means towards common goals. The reward to those who understand this is not just the end achievements, but the deeper insights into the world gained through the process.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Capstone Project - GIS Database design, Processing, Stakeholder Tool Building Currently working on Asset Mapping of Illinois agricultural infrastructure, and analyzing feasibility for local food hub creation and integration of alternative food-supply models into traditional infrastructure. Also planning to lay out a design for a GIS stakeholder tool with which to model the food supply chain for applications in food product cycle analysis (ex. tomato seed to plate), food security, and pathogen / agroterrorism modeling potential.
